Ribbon Snakes, a beautiful native snake of Maine, gather in large colonies, deep in rock piles and caves, to keep each other warm during winter. These “snake balls”, or hibernacula, can sometimes comprise of hundreds of individuals who find each other in these ancestral meeting places.
